The Natural Art of Indecision

Indecision.

Do you think indecision is a failing of yours?  Well, don't judge too quickly.  Let's look at Mother Nature and how she makes up her mind.

Here in upstate New York, nature is having a hard time making up its mind.  If trees could talk, this might be what they are talking about at this very moment where I live, in the Binghamton, New York area.
Should I turn color like this?
Should I stay green?
Or, maybe I can do both.

Some trees..er, people, just can't make up their minds.  Not right away, anyway.  But Nature gets things done.  (Too bad, as many of us here would like this changing color season to last forever. Or, if it had to end, for Nature to skip right over winter and return to spring.)

So, if you find it hard to decide, you are in good company.

Learn the lessons of Nature.  Everything in its time, and a time for everything.  Express your true nature.  Be true to yourself.  In the end, you will accomplish your purpose.

Don't stress over the process.  Do you think a tree thinks about how it will turn color?  No.  It just does it, having faith that it will work out in the end.

It's Friday. Be happy.

What is making you happy today?

  2. I am reminded of an activity we did in acting class where we were instructed to "be a tree." Not an easy thing for me because I always imagine trees as been well rooted. It's still a good exercise to practice.

  3. Very interesting. Some times I don't understand how nature takes its decisions.

  4. Nice color! First I was glad to see the rain today, and then it stopped and a breeze blew and I was glad to feel that. Finally the sun came out and I was glad to see that too.

  6. Trees seem to pass the message on to each other about the changing season. Those that grow on the outside of a stand of trees are the first to sprout new leaves in spring, or let their leaves wither before the approaching winter.

  7. Love this post Alana and such wonderful photos to. Your post made me smile - ...maybe I can do both - I can so relate to that as I can be indecisive especially since I have the ability to see the pros and cons of both sides of the coin, i.e., decision, almost immediately. ;) <3
