Spring Things - Five Shades of White

White, white, and more white.  With, perhaps, a splash of pink.  Spring surrounds me as my spouse and I take an exercise walk in the Binghamton area of upstate New York.
We've been doing it for some four years now.

Enjoy this closeup of a dogwood in Binghamton, New York.
Tulips in my front yard (at the end of the walk.)
An ash tree in bloom, back in Binghamton, shows us its creamy white blossoms.

All white late daffodils, Binghamton.  So much white they washed out.
And still more white during our walk.

The last couple of days, I have walked in a coat due to the unseasonable cold.  But I have faith that the warm weather will come.

Enjoy the season, as it will soon be hot and summery.  And for my readers on the Indian subcontinent, I hope this post sends some refreshing breezes your way.

How was your weather yesterday?

  1. Our trees blooms have fallen off- given the 45 mph winds and temperatures in the 50s and 40s. (A little further out, they dipped below freezing at night. In May!)

  2. It's still unseasonably cool here in Oklahoma. But we're enjoying it!

  3. We've got purple everywhere. There are these trees...I don't know what they're called...that have purple blooms. And right now they're all purple. The blooms have started to fall off. There are streets that are lined with all purple trees.

Our weather yesterday--still doing the May gray thing. Overcast in the morning and into the afternoon. Mid-70s when the sun comes out. Normal.

  4. Isn't it interesting that white which is the absence of color can have so many different shades? Nature is amazing!

  5. Great pictures. During spring I often forget about white flowers because there are more colorfyl things to look at. You've made me remember the beauty of white blooms.
