Skywatch Friday - The New Year

This is the season of clouds, unrelenting clouds, and time for another Skywatch Friday. (Come visit the site, and visit other bloggers posting their Skywatch pictures).

This was taken about two and a half hours before sundown on New Years Eve.  The line of light touching the hills is a boundary between lake effect clouds and sunny skies further away, I suspect.

Fast forward to January 4, when the sun actually made an appearance in advance of a cold wave, and these sundown photos.

Sky of yellow

And sky of red.

Visit #SkywatchFriday, and admire the sky from all over our world.

    1. We don't have as much snow as we normally do, but it's been in the teens most of today.

  4. I'm rarely up early enough to see sunrise but any time I am I'm not disappointed. The colors are beautiful.
