Almost Wordless Wednesday - Butterfly

Taken by my guest photographer yesterday.
Late season butterfly on zinnias.

I know little about butterflies, so I hope one of my readers can ID her (or him).

Enjoying the last of our unseasonably hot weather.

Not knowing it will all end by tomorrow.

  1. It just reminds me of Muhammad Ali... fly like abutterly and sting like a bee.

  2. Your butterfly is a Painted Lady. There are a lot of them around in fall.

  3. Your guest photographer is talented. Getting the butterflies like that... I'm impressed.

  4. Beautiful on top of beautiful! The only flying things (besides birds) we have left here are the white flies, flies and fruit flies. Sigh.

  5. It's still hot Alana! I'm happy though as I quite dread the cold

  6. I agree with Dorothy Borders; it looks like a Painted Lady.
