To See and Touch the Flowers

Spring is speeding by in my yard in upstate New York.

My mother in law was released from the hospital yesterday.  On her trip back from the hospital she enjoyed looking at the flowering trees and other flowers.

Sometimes we lose sight of what the important things are, such as the ability to just step out and watch the flowers.  To smell, and to touch.

Today, I am sharing some pictures I took yesterday evening, during the "golden hour", in my front and side yards.

Tuesday tulips.  I don't remember their names, but I believe they were developed, years ago, by Cornell.

Definitely daffodils.

More daffodils.

Still more daffodils.

There are so many flowers opening and closing in the past week or so - it seems like they are passing by at super-speed.
Just like this famous scene from the movie "The Time Machine".

Today, why don't you watch or touch a flower, while you can?

  1. I watch the flowers on the sides of the road as i pedal along.

  2. I don't think I've seen a tulip this year! Purple iris blooms a week ago, brown-flecked yellow on Friday, my pure gold-yellow ones started budding on Monday--but not one tulip in town.

  3. Beautiful spring flowers. It's important to take time to enjoy them. I'm happy to hear that your mother-in-law is able to do just that and that she is feeling better.

  4. Such pretty flowers. That's the best part of the season, isn't it?

  5. Love your beautiful flowers... wish I could have them in my yard, but I don't take the chance. My son & I are both allergic to bees! :(
