Street Art Skillet Stars and Simple Minds #AtoZChallenge #MusicMovesMe

Welcome to the #AtoZChallenge and also a Monday music group I participate in called Music Moves Me. So...yes, you guessed it.  Today it's all about the letter "S"

Before we get into the music, let's give a Shoutout to some Street art I found in 2013 in Saint Augustine, Florida.   And now, it's time to Strut our musical Stuff!

Who are the #MusicMovesMe bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only on this music train, please!)   First, there is XmasDolly,   Her co-conductors are:   Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, Cathy of Curious as a Cathy and me. Also joining us from time to time is Callie of JAmerican Spice

Let us begin!

Our guest conductor for the month of May is Kim of the ReInvintaged Life, and she has given us a free day to blog about whatever we want.  So, Songs or Artists beginning with S:
Strawberry Fields Forever- The Beatles

Subdivsions- Rush

Sanctify Yourself - Simple Minds (not my favorite song of theirs, but it fits the theme in both group and title.)

Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel

Skillet - here, they do a song called "Stars".

Finally - Rainbow singing (live) "Since You've Been Gone".

What are your favorite songs beginning with "S"?

"S" day on #AtoZChallenge - my theme (deviating today) Finding America through Photos.  But you can find America through music, too!

  2. Hey Alana,

I'm doing the catch-up game this morning. 'Strawberry Fields Forever' is a song I haven't heard in a while which I enjoyed listening to again. Your other song features aren't striking any bells inside my head, so they must be new-to-me. Thanks for sharing the 4M dance floor with me this morning and happy a2zing, my friend! ;)

  3. Great choices! A few favorite S songs that come to mind:

Sad songs say so much (Elton John)
She believes in me (Kenny Rogers, extra points for his duet with Lionel Richie)
Sky full of stars and Speed of sound (Coldplay)
    Shout (Tears for Fears)

    Happy Monday!

  4. Thanks for sharing Skillet. Most of their music that I have heard has a much harder edge to it. I really like this song. Have a blessed week.

  5. Some selections not familiar to me as always! What about 'Summer Time' or 'Somebody to Love'?

  6. Since I can't comment separately - thank you, everyone, who suggested music. I also forgot, too late, about a couple of Stevie Wonder hits such as Superstition and Sir (Duke). So many Songs beginning with S. @Tamara I would love to know if you have any of those stories. @Cathy thank you for thinking of me!

  7. Way ta go girlfriend, you totally out did yourself today! Love, love, love Peter Gabriel and Rush... sorry not so much of a fan, but these songs are cool. Plus who doesn't like Strawberry Fields... you have ROCKED the HOUSE my friend! Have a great day!

  8. I loved all these selections so much! I know Simple Minds was quite popular in the 80s, but I still think they were way underrated - most people only know "Don't You Forget About Me", and a lot of their other songs were just as good, IMO.

  9. Great selections for the letter "S" - I've always been partial to that particular letter, especially since I had double "S" mode name-wise with my maiden name - Stacy Swenson...heh!! :)

Thanks so much for the dance!
