Crocus and Bee #WordlessWednesday

Sunday, where I live in upstate New York, I saw my first crocus flower.

As I watched, a bee flew towards another nearby crocus.

It landed.
Then it flew to another flower.
Maybe the bee wondered why it was out when it was still winter, but eventually it flew away.

The flower remained, and soaked up some March sun.

Now, Wednesday, the crocus are out in force, although mine haven't started to bloom yet.

The calendar is wrong. We may get one or two more snows, but we no longer care.  Spring is here.

  5. I've yet to see my first Crocus of the season, or my first bee for that matter. One I'm hoping to see soon and the other I wouldn't mind waiting longer.

  6. We have had such a mild but very wet winter That our daffodils started flowering at Christmas with the crocus about a week later. All very nice for a bit of winter colour, but it has left just the primroses flowering now when everything should be in full bloom.

  7. Alana,

I love the hints of spring! The daffodils are in bloom around town, some trees wear popcorn blossoms for decoration, I spied some tender green leaves opening on others, and even the Forsythia is beginning to show color. I'm ready for Mr. Blue Sky to arrive now. :) Thanks for visiting and joining my Wild Wednesdays linky party, darlin'!
