Dunedin Decorations #AtoZChallenge

It's time to take a virtual trip from my home in the Southern Tier of upstate New York to Dunedin, Florida.

Dunedin located in Pinellas County, Florida, along with St. Petersburg and Clearwater.  It's a different kind of place, though - one part Scottish, one part art colony, one part Florida.  Some very nice walking and biking trails.  I hope spouse and I can go back one day.

In January, it's a wonderful place for people from the frigid parts of the United States to visit.  We were fortunate enough to be able to visit for several days this past January, before the coronavirus got going.
You would expect water in a Florida location.  But do you see that little blue object left center?
I can't remember if this is the same one, but here's a Dolphin Decoration.
And a Little Free Library.

One more dolphin.

  2. Nice post. We used to have a little free library in my Quees, NY neighborhood -- but it mysteriously disappeared and has not returned. Thanks for the virtual escape from sheltering at home.

  4. Lovely! Great sequestered bloggers must think alike, my latest post is about Florida in January too.

What I wouldn't give for a swim in blue water. Must be getting close to warm enough for that down there now.

  5. We are on the west coast so we do Arizona in the winter. I've been to Florida once in December but remember quite a bit of humidity. By the way, my husband was from Rome, New York. He came to LA for graduate school and never returned. We met and now make our home in British Columbia, but he's happy the snow here is way less, almost nonexistent. - Margy

  8. Alana,

I'll never forget when we were in Naples in 2013, we walked out one of the piers and spotted dolphins in the water. That was just so exciting for me! I tried to get capture some shots but I don't think I ever got anything good. It was an incredibly sunny day and you know how difficult it is to see images on a LED screen but the experience was amazing. I'm glad y'all got to take a trip for the madness started. We talked about taking a vacation this year but now this has happened I'm not sure if or when we'll be able to do it. I guess we might need to think about doing it early next year before schools dismiss for the summer. That's a good schedule and one we've done in the past that's worked well for us.
