Red vs White #ThursdayTreeLove

The horse chestnuts have finished blooming for 2020, but I want to share my memories with you.

If they look familiar, I've blogged about them before.

But what I wanted to bring you today is a little Battle of the Horse Chestnuts - white vs. red, the two varieties we have.  The white ones are much more common.  The reds are a hybrid.

You decide which you like the best, red vs. white.

  1. I think the white shows up better against the green.

  2. Hi Alana - I love the pink ones, but the white ones are the show offs - I've just been reading how they were brought to England in the 1500s - by the Tradescants (father and son) (Philippa Gregory books).

Unfortunately they have a disease ... which seems to be spreading, as other trees have particular diseases - it's a difficult time for flora and fauna. Love the photos - hope the little pink one flourishes! Stay safe - Hilary

  8. They are all winners because they make our streets and surroundings look so beautiful. I noticed that the white ones had two colors inside. It's so pretty. Thanks for joining, Alana. See you tomorrow.
