So sad. I could relate to almost everyth...Hi Alana,<br />So sad. I could relate to almost everything you mentioned: the revile, the flag raising, the prayers before meals. I went to Camp Agape in New York State. I made my first African American friends there. I wrote letters to other campers: from Tonawanda, and other cities in New York State. My sister was a camp counselor. She was great! I love that you would like to know how others fared, what they made of themselves. I think that is a great lead to follow and put in the context of a book. Not the entire book but perhaps a thread???
