I've stood near some of those trees in Gettysburg and looked out across the field in which thousands of men marched and died. They can live for such a long time and can witness many events and changes, especially those in towns and cities.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12899792757149920447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-77394317280190063322018-07-12T11:43:57.345-04:002018-07-12T11:43:57.345-04:00Angel tree has a lot of stories to tell.Lovely nam...Angel tree has a lot of stories to tell.Lovely name and gorgeous picture as usual.Amritahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04189258001273205529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-83140004448041461152018-07-12T11:07:22.749-04:002018-07-12T11:07:22.749-04:00Wow, that tree must have seen a lot.Wow, that tree must have seen a lot.songbird's crazy worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11473854543986991104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-26607894014922960662018-07-12T10:26:34.131-04:002018-07-12T10:26:34.131-04:00I know I've said this before, but I LOVE trees...I know I've said this before, but I LOVE trees! I always look at the huge, ancient ones and wonder what they've seen.<br />When Husby and I visited Ephesus, Turkey, we took a tour up to the place where John, the Beloved was purported to have taken Mary, the mother of Jesus to live out her days. A small house has been erected that we were give a tour of. A four-room, gilded, chandeliered house that, to me, just couldn't have been right. But just outside the door was a 2000-plus year-old olive tree. Twisted and gnarled. Now THAT tree witnessed some things!Diane Stringam Tolleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09629946536985545457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-41877235056912661522018-07-12T08:28:07.491-04:002018-07-12T08:28:07.491-04:00What an interesting concept - and a great way to r...What an interesting concept - and a great way to recognize the age and grandeur of some of the trees around us - I think there should be more of it - Australia needs some reminding of it's history!Leannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05623420015695351280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-91403889427801580302018-07-12T08:22:19.689-04:002018-07-12T08:22:19.689-04:00What a fascinating idea!
