There are several songs named School Days and all of them different. I had read about the original one from 1907 but never heard it so I'm glad you included it here.

I sure did see the School of Rock movie. That was a fun flick. Jack Black shined in it.

I haven't heard the Beach Boys "Be True to Your School" in ages. Any Beach Boys song really makes for a good feeling, at least for me.

I used Steely Dan's "My Old School" too. I love that song. The musicianship is incredible and I'm just so surprised that it didn't chart higher.

Thank you for including the link to the 1974 People Magazine article on Alice Cooper. It was an interesting read for sure. How funny that Binghamton banned them playing in their city -- and then Alice deciding to premier his new movie there. Lol.
I did so hate reading about the audience tearing that poor live chicken apart though. Oh my God, that made my heart ache. It's probably that kind of crowd reaction and the press about it that made Binghamton ban the group. I do remember back then around that time with all the hoopla and rumors that circulated about his live shows. I have never seen him in concert and frankly, had no interest in seeing him after hearing some of the rumors about him biting the head of a live snake off and all that other gory stuff. I don't know if that was true or not but it was a real turn off. I do though so love his great hits (Schools Out, No More Mr. Nice Guy, I'm Eighteen, Billion Dollar Babies).

This School theme was fun. Brought back some great memories of those so long ago days...
Have a great week!

Michele at Angels Bark

Michele at Angels Bark https://www.blogger.com/profile/15891713963440451090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8199270158927284616.post-41278351605781639392017-09-25T15:08:41.544-04:002017-09-25T15:08:41.544-04:00Oh, my goodness! I'd say most in the 50+ bracket have experienced a run in with a switch in his/her young lives. ;)

I streamed "School of Rock" while on my elliptical several months ago which I enjoyed. Jack Black actually has decent vocals. It was a fun movie!

Alice Cooper's "School's Out" always comes to mind first. I remember how we chanted this song on the last day of school. Hearing it always brings back fond memories and makes me thankful I'm no longer in school. lol

Thanks for sharing the dance floor with the 4M gals today, my friend. Have skooltastic week!Cathy Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01056276734145310231noreply@blogger.com
