It's Monday, and it's time for music!
Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers?
We are a group of music loving bloggers who blog about music each Sunday or Monday (or even later in the week). If you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please! Otherwise, your post link may be labeled "No Music" or even removed.) We have occasional theme weeks, but you are welcome to ignore the theme and use music of your choice. Why not join us? You don't have to sing, or play an instrument. All music lovers are welcome.
This week's theme is: You Pick.
The movie Project Hail Mary was released on March 20. I have not read the book (yet) but I have been interested in science fiction since I was around 10 years ago. I've read another Andy Weir book, The Martian, and loved it. It wasn't just because the book was originally self published on Weir's blog but because...well, because. I'm also a big fan of the alternate history series For All Mankind, which supposes an alternate history based on the Russians getting to the Moon first. However, I'm only partially through season 2 and my 90 day trial to Apple TV is almost over. (Please, commenters, no spoilers!) I may have to start spending money to watch the rest of this series.
But anyway, this (and a couple of Project Hail Mary playlists on You Tube) have inspired me to create a space themed playlist for today.
First up is this iconic song by Harry Styles, Sign of the Times, adapted by Geek Music for the Project Hail Mary trailer. Truthfully, I like the original better, but, this does fit the space theme.
Elton John and Rocket Man.
No space theme can be complete without David Bowie's Space Oddity.
Or, it's unofficial sequel Major Tom (Coming Home) from Peter Schilling. Fun fact I just learned the other day is that this song was originally released in German.
I'm ending with Pink Floyd and Brain Damage/Eclipse Dark Side of the Moon, even though these aren't songs about the dark side of the moon.
And that's a wrap!
Join me again next week for another episode of Music Moves Me.
...you sure have a diverse collection, I tend to be stuck with limited tastes.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these, especially Pink Floyd, which inspired a little side trip into the band.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme!
ReplyDeleteI was a huge Elton John fan in my day. I owned all of his albums and saw him in concert twice in Tulsa, OK. I saw him just prior to the release of the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album. He set the place on fire with Pinball Wizard! Great playlist this morning.
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing a lot about Hail Mary, I'm ready to give it a watch. Elton John is the winner for me this week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all these songs especially the Pink Floyd song
ReplyDeleteI too enjoyed The Martian both book and movie. Looking forward to watching this one.
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ Rocket Man. 🚀
ReplyDeleteWe see the ads for this series on Amazon now that you can stream Apple TV content there, if you subscribe. It's not reeling me in, though. I may have to watch the trailer closer. I like your music collection. Rocket Man is my favorite. Interesting tidbit about Major Tom (Coming Home) being released in Germany. I need to read the lyrics since I can't understand them anymore, but this song always made me think of Russia. We'll never know the what ifs had Russian gotten to the moon first, but I'm glad that we were the first. :) Have a boogietastic week and best of luck to you in the A2Z challenge next month! xo ~CAAC
