Spring starts later this morning, at least for some of us. I know what the calendar says but, where I live in the Southern Tier of New York, spring has to battle it out with winter for weeks before spring finally wins,
The battle between winter and spring makes for some interesting skies.
The day before I took this picture, it got up to 72F (22.2C). Springlike? Not so fast. The next day when I woke up around 5:50 am, it was 23F (-5 C) and there was ice on the driveway, with snow on top of the ice. That resulted in most of the pictures in this post.
Some of my crocuses are blooming and I'm sure they didn't appreciate that winter won the battle.
Look hard and you'll see a bird on the branch in the middle of the photo. Today, the first day of spring, it is supposed to rain but at least it will be rain and not snow.

Great shot.
ReplyDelete...officially spring isn't feeling spring like here at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIt’s officially spring today. Winter may have won the battle but it will lose the war,
ReplyDeleteMarch is a battleground in many places which makes it really fun. Here in Oklahoma I love the sight of the blooming redbud trees after it snows. It doesn't happen often but it is a very pretty sight. I don't think it is going to happen because we are 92F for a high today.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring. I hope it stays spring for you sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteStormy looking skies, but they provide excellent photo opportunities.
ReplyDeleteSo up & down, you've got to have your winter clothes and spring clothes out just in case! It sky does look less wintery. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies! We're in full summer mode in S CA, with temperatures in the 90's all week. Crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteI love the clouds and the trees in the picture is so nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog

ReplyDeleteThose skies certainly look more wintry than spring-like. I hope you get to enjoy spring soon.
