Today, two memes for the price of one. First, W day in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, followed by Music Moves Me (linkup is at the bottom of this post).
Winter. It's a large part of our lives where I live in the Southern Tier of New York. Some people like it. I am not one of them.
I am so happy that spring has finally come, but perhaps we would not appreciate spring so much if we didn't have winter. So here are some photos of our winter. Several are from my guest photographer, who has a DSLR, and lives out in the country. Me, I'm more small city, and I use an iPhone.

Now, it's time for Music, as I join the Music Moves Me bloggers. We are a group of music loving bloggers who blog about music each Sunday or Monday (or even later in the week). If you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! We are brought to you by Cathy of Curious as a Cathy, Stacy of Stacy's Random Thoughts, Marie, and myself, plus other music loving bloggers. Why not join us? Our optional theme for this week is "America’s favorite past time for many starts up again for professional baseball players. You don’t have to be a fan but it could be fun to pick songs that include the teams’ mascot. Stretch this prompt to fit your play set however you want!" but I am going to choose Songs beginning with W as my theme because I accidentally did the official theme several weeks ago.
From 1969, Blood, Sweat and Tears and Sometimes in Winter.
2004's Wizards of Winter from Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Finishing with 1967's Wintertime Love from The Doors.
And that's a wrap!
W day in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. My theme "Beauty of our Land".
Music Moves Me - here are the participating blogs. If you have at least one song to share, why not join us?

"If winter comes, can spring be far behind?" Well, yes, sadly, quite a long way behind for some. Lovely wintery photographs, though.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are beautiful.

I can only wish winter is over, but I live in Michigan, so who knows.
ReplyDelete...I'm happy to move on to spring.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I unknowingly focused on baseball a few weeks back and featured our spring training trip. I had a few images left over and found a couple of more songs, so I was okay with rewinding the theme. You just can't go wrong with BS&T. Back in the day, I liked them better than Chicago. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteW is for Winter, but in my heart, W is for 'Welcome back, Spring!' These photos are a great reminder of why we appreciate the sunshine so much—nothing makes you value a flower like seeing a picnic table buried in snow. I’m glad I’m not the only one who 'accidentally' does themes early; sometimes the music just moves you when it wants to! 'Sometimes in Winter' is such a classic mood. I’m ready to leave the ice to the ducks and Harriet, and get back to my 'Beauty of our Land' without the frostbite. Great to be part of the linkup.
ReplyDeleteThose winter photos … I’ve had enough winter for awhile.
ReplyDeleteYes, many parts of Canada have been belted by snow storms. Thankfully, we are aok but the weather is schizo! Love the music you pucked
ReplyDeleteI meant to say picked
ReplyDeleteLooking at all those snow scenes makes me cold! I grew up and have lived in places that have snow, but I've become used to (and rather enjoy) the subtropical climate of Houston. I think it would be hard for me to transition back to those colder winters now.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the A-Z challenge. Lovely winter photos. The snow always looks so pretty but I'm sure it's hard to get through winters that harsh. Our son has just spent his second winter in Vermont and he is very glad to see Spring arrive.
ReplyDeleteI agree because of winter, we do appreciate spring all the more and thus the same can be said about summer and fall. Our seasons aren't as severe as yours, they are distinctive and we do feel the differences. I do enjoy seeing beautiful snowy landscapes. As the Bible says there's a time and a season for a good things. We need to enjoy each one because each is a blessing. :) Thanks for sharing. The A2Z challenge will end soon. I'm sure you'll be relieved. I applaud you for sticking with this year after year. Have a boogietastic week, Alana! xo
ReplyDeleteI love Winter but we don't get snow or really freezing temperatures so that might be why I like it.
ReplyDeleteI think I would appreciate spring without the cold! Except that's when all the spring flowers are dormant, and I wouldn't want them to bloom in winter, spring would still be something to look forward to. Which I do, even when there's a snow-less winter. Which we mostly had, and dry and warm too. I just picked a ripe June bearing strawberry yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI agree with that.. about not being able to appreciate spring without winter. I have lived in a place with one season and now live in a place with 4. And I love having four seasons. It gives me the opportunity to complain about the one I am in currently and look forward to the next one.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! ☃️

I love the pics! Love pics of snowy hills and trees dripping with icicles. But I don’t miss the Chicago winter!
