On July 2, we visited Cutler Botanic Gardens in Binghamton, New York. This small botanic garden, which is free of charge to visit, has a beautiful display of day lilies.
While it was too soon to see the display in its full glory, we found that some recent rainstorms had left some portions of the grounds flooded.
Here a bird looks at water where water should not be. Perhaps the bird was also intrigued by the reflection of the sky in the puddle directly to his or her left.
You don't always have to look up to see the sky.
But if you had, you would have seen this beautiful sunny day.

Our skies are grey today. We are getting the rain they predicted. They predict it a lot but it always seems to bypass my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteWe got a little sprinkle where we lived but while we were at the local library, a town away, it poured. If you want the rain I'll try to send some over.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.A nation of grumblers
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley.
DeleteA deluge is one way to empty the sky of clouds.
ReplyDeleteOh!! I loved how you captured the sky in that puddle...Great shot and great write up.
ReplyDeleteMmmm . . . the sky after the storm. So calming . . .
ReplyDeleteI would just as soon go for a walk in any botanic garden with my camera as anything else in the world.
ReplyDeleteBeauty looking up or down! Love seeing your photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the puddle will dry eventually. And then you'll be wishing for more rain. Isn't that always the way?
ReplyDeleteI love sky reflections. Pretty shots!!
ReplyDeleteThank you,thank you!
DeleteI love seeing the reflections of the sky in puddles. The water adds an interesting distortion to the actual reality.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing better than a local botanical garden is one you can walk through for free. Beautiful pictures, as usual.
ReplyDeleteGrey skies here today, but beautiful just the same. We need the rain, so I am happy with the clouds. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteEvery few minutes, our sky would change color. At one point, it got dark and then, all of a sudden, it started pouring!!! I had to go out so I put on my rainboots and put up my umbrella. Half an hour later, it was sunny.
ReplyDeleteThere's something fascinating about reflections and I love gardens but hate the crows. I found it hard not to shoo it out of your picture!
