On our way back from Columbia, South Carolina (driving back home to upstate New York after the total eclipse of the sun), we took a break and spent a couple of nights in Waynesboro, Virginia, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
We stopped to watch the sky before going into a restaurant for supper, and saw what seemed to be thousands of birds flying, close to sunset, roosting on nearby street lights and utility wires. In this picture, the birds appear like tiny grains of black pepper in the lower half of the picture. I just couldn't capture their majesty.
Another sky view, without birds.
And one more, as the sunset progressed.
