Scarecrow contest in Otsiningo Park, Binghamton, New York.
Some of these are made by nonprofits, others individuals, others community groups. The contest runs from October 8 to October 21.
The one on the left side, middle, is supposed to be the singer Cher. I may post the full sized one for one of my October Music Moves Me posts.
Which would you vote for?
And again, thank you for all the well wishes re my back injury. I did see a massage therapist yesterday - the muscle that "froze up" was a major muscle affecting a lot of motion so this may be a slow process. The good news is, apparently, no major damage, just painful. Thankful to my spouse, who has put up with me, including having to help dress me in the morning. It's giving me a new appreciation for some of the physical struggles of senior citizens.
Day 11 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge #blogboost
I totally missed your comment about hurting your back. I've had more than my share of back injuries, including spinal surgery, so I wish you a speedy recovery. Lots of rest!
ReplyDeleteI do like Cher! And glad your back is not a major issue...hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteWe have a town near us that has a scarecrow "thing" where they dress them up and create all sorts of varieties. Also glad to hear that you're on the road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteScarecrows! I don't think I saw as many of them on farms as I do at people's homes around Halloween. I'm guessing because none of them are effective at keeping unwanted visitors at bay. (I need one for my telephone!)
ReplyDeleteGlad I don't have to choose a favorite, I'd just go and enjoy them all.
ReplyDeleteGreat scarecrow crop! Sorry to hear about your injury. Massage therapy...keep it up although it hurts...worth it in the end. Been there done that. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteCool scarecrows. Sorry about your back.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of digging the one in the right corner of the bottom middle picture!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to see a massage therapist. I hope you start feeling better soon.
We have a similar scarecrow competition in downtown Paso Robles, but I haven't been downtown since Saturday. I'm not sure when the scarecrows will be up, but they are usually there by Halloween and people vote for their favorites. The scarecrows sit in front of sponsoring businesses.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read about your back injury, so sorry to hear about it but hope you recover quickly. I'd be a terrible judge, I use to be one in 4H and could never pick a winner because they are all great! I love the entries!
