Pennsylvania Big Sky Country #SkywatchFriday

Last night, I was in Pennsylvania, not that far from the southern shore of Lake Erie, in the concord grape country of North East, Pennsylvania.

A cold front had finally relieved the heat and humidity, and clouds were puffing up from the lake.  It reminded me a little of Big Sky country in Montana, which I have only seen once.

The combination of clouds was beautiful.

As the sun approached sunset, it got a big more dramatic.

Finally, after sunset, the sky reddened and the puffy clouds almost disappeared.  The lowest band of blue, right below the pink-red streak, is Lake Erie. This was taken from the third floor of our motel.

Once again, I join Yogi and other bloggers who watch the sky each Friday on #SkywatchFriday.

  1. Beautiful sky. I like in Minnesota’s SE farm country and big open skies just bring me happiness. Add some puffy clouds and it’s plain joyful! Have a great weekend!

  3. What beautiful photos of the sky! My folks had a place in Big Sky---one of the best places to see the stars at night.

  6. Not sure which I find more beautiful, the puffy clouds or the colors of the sky after they cleared.

  10. Alana,

Rich blue skies filled with white fluffy clouds is a version of autumn to come and oh, what a gorgeous sunset! I haven't taken sunset pictures in quite some time. Maybe, I'll have a chance one weekend soon. It's just been to crazy for us to do much for far too long.
