Brooklyn Moods #SkywatchFriday #blogboost

Brooklyn, New York, is part of New York City.  It's a part that was once neglected by tourists, but more and more are finding that Brooklyn is a place they should be checking out.

I grew up in New York City.  For the first time in my life, this past December, I found myself (with my spouse and son) in a hotel room in downtown Brooklyn.  I took this sunrise picture from my window.
Dec 23 sunset, showing that sunrise and sunset beauty can be found anywhere.

Coney Island Beach Christmas Eve - no more clear weather; the clouds have arrived.

Dec 23 holiday lights.

  1. My daughter-who-lives-in-Manhattan tells me that there are parts of Brooklyn where the rents are even higher than in Manhattan, that Brooklyn has become a popular place to live. Great shot of Coney Island. I’m trying to figure out we’re you took the sunset photo.

  2. I’ve visited NYC several times but don’t think I’ve been to Brooklyn. But I’ve always been fascinated by the name ever since I read ‘ A Tree Grows in Brooklyn ‘ as an adolescent

  5. I love your usual more serene local pics, but there's just something vibrant and alive about pictures of a city.

  6. Always nice to be reminded of Brooklyn, where I grew up... graduated Brooklyn Technical HS ['56] and CCNY ['60]]. Brooklyn was a different world back then...

  9. I would not mind visiting at all.
I'd want at least two weeks to visit a bit of New York.

  10. Thanks for that glimpse of Brooklyn, Alana. I've always wanted to visit New York City and have several online friends in the area. One day!
