The catalpa. (The utility pole gives you a sense of how tall they can get.)
If it looks familiar, I've blogged about them before.
More than once.
Here are a couple of more pictures. Let's get a little closer.
And still closer.
It doesn't quite wear a crown, but it is royalty.
Want more lovely trees in your day? Head on over to Parul's blog (link above) and see what other tree lovers have posted.
And if you want to join in, we are live every second and fourth Thursday of the month. I'll be back on July 9 with more Tree Love.

They have very pretty flowers, but I don't need a tree that gets that tall! Or, at least more trees... I have cedars already, but they were around long before the house was built. I wouldn't want to deal with the leaves off a 60' tree!
ReplyDeleteThat thing is huge.
ReplyDeleteWow!! A lovely species to honour the 90th TTL edition!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely one and the leaves are so big. The flowers remind me of bougainvillea. It's a beautiful bloom, Alana. So glad you shared. Hope to see you back tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's great to have such a diversity of trees in the world and fun to see something new.
ReplyDeleteOh such lovely flower sprays Alanna - thanks for sharing this.
