Monarch on Milkweed #WordlessWednesday

On July 10th, spouse and I were walking where the milkweed was blooming.  We saw our first monarch.  It fluttered out of range of my iPhone SE first edition, which does not have a good zoom function.

Visible in the upper left - just barely.

Frustration!  Let's be patient and hope the butterfly comes closer.

But then, taking pity of me, he or she alights on a plant just a bit closer.

Success! (too bad zoom lenses for this model iPhone seem to be hard to get).

We've see several monarchs since and several other butterflies.  There's a tiny orange butterfly that seems to alight mainly on white clover and will spread its wings in the sunshine.  I'm trying to identify that one, and may post it over the weekend.

Meanwhile, I'm joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for her #WordlessWednesday
