Wednesday, I blogged about Broome County, New York's annual fall Scarecrow contest in Binghamton's Otsiningo Park.
Park goers get to vote for their favorites through tomorrow, October 24. I took a lot of pictures (not of all the entrants - there are over 40 this year, I believe). Let's see if we can guess who won.
A recycled can and bottle grasshopper scarecrow - I would say, an imaginative entry.
What's a spiedie, the T-shirts ask. Here's the answer.
Last one for today.
My Wednesday post, if you want to see more entries.
More next week.
...they all are winners in my book.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun for everyone. Yes, all winners.
DeleteVery clever. How do you choose?
ReplyDeleteEach entry is numbered (you can see the number on some of the photos.) There are paper ballots at one end of the display with pencils and a ballot box. In other words, old school voting. Results should be in Monday, I think.
DeleteOf these today, I like the traditional ones, with the pumpkins. I love the candy corn nose! My favorite though is the "What's a spiedie?" I like the bats and twigs.
ReplyDeleteHalloween is my favorite holiday by far. The weather is still generally good, you don't have to buy anybody anything for anybody, and nobody feels sorry for you if you can't make it home for Halloween. I love the decorations you found.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun! I’ve never heard of one in our area. I think it would be a great asset!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about scarecrows. But I think there pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
That is so very cool
ReplyDeleteI like the title "pumpkin spice girls", but I think the reference is a bit dated.
