A blogger I like to read had the idea to photograph a flower at different points in its life.
What I decided to do was photograph my Japanese anemones (not the same flower in different stages, but part of the same clumps in different stages).
(Want more flowers? Check me out Friday, October 15, for Garden Bloggers Bloom Day.)
Bud
Shyly opening
Full bloom
Smiling for the camera
Aging but proud.
What's special about Japanese anemones? Not too many perennials bloom in early fall where I live in New York State. These will be gone with our first frost but, in the meantime, they are here for me (and you) to enjoy.

ReplyDeleteThey're very pretty. What do you mean, "These will be gone with our first frost"? You haven't had it yet? Not fair! Mine was Monday night, 27 degrees. I have a big mess to clean up.
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are lovely. Here we are pleased to see that a certain weedy white flower has appeared in our yard---some kind of wild aster, I think
ReplyDeleteI notice there a few mums and such up against people places that are in bloom.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
