It's Sunday (for a change of pace). It's time for music!
Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Sunday or Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!) Our head hostess is Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and she is joined by the knowledgeable Stacy of Stacy Uncorked and (last but not least) me.
We'd
love more music lovers to join our music loving group. All you have to do is
join the linky above with a music post that contains at least one music
video (there must be a music video or your post will be subject to removal or labeling "No Music"). So easy!
Each month, except December, we have a guest host. For August, we again welcome Adventures in Weseland.
His theme for this week
is "You Pick" and I'm going to be a little different this week. I hope you enjoy it.
I don't post modern songs all that often, but I love the group Shinedown.
This song came out not that long ago, and I think this may become one of Shinedown's greatest songs. Presenting: "Daylight". What a powerful song this is.
Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" (a rock interpretation) as performed by Croatian cellist Ana Rucner. This artist participated in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest (not with this song) representing Bosnia and Herzegovina. What a beautiful video this is.
Let's go back a little, to Rod Stewart, and "Rhythm of My Heart" from 1991. My thanks to another music blogger for reminding me of this song.
The Yardbirds - Shapes of Things, from 1966. "Please don't destroy these lands/don't make them desert sands." A song that looked into the future. "Will time make Man more wise?"
I've had this song on my blog before but it bears repeating - The Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics, from 1989.
And that's a wrap. Join me tomorrow for some nice flower photos and each Monday (normally) for Music Moves Me!
...the group Shinedown, Ana Rucner and Mike and the Mechanics are new to me.
ReplyDeleteLoved these choices. Never heard of Daylight or Shinedown before. Great verses. Mike's tune always brings tears to my eyes. And, I miss the Yardbirds- big time.
ReplyDeleteI was familiar with The Yardbirds and Mike + The Mechanics. The others were okay...
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard Ana Rucner before but that version of Beethoven's 9th and the video are absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteVery nice songs. Really enjoyed all of them.
ReplyDeleteLove the Shinedown song! The rest are huge favourites, especially Mike and the Mechanics!
ReplyDelete"Rhythm Of My Heart" is a great song and perhaps the only one in this set that I actually knew wit the except of the classic Beethoven tune. Thanks for sharing the music that moves you with us, darlin'. Have a boogietastic week!
ReplyDeleteGreat list. Especially Sir Rod.
