Seen this month at the Regional Farmers Market in Binghamton, New York.
The decorated entrance.
Romanesco broccoli. A mathematician would love to analyze these buds. This is an heirloom dating back to the 16th century.
Celeriac and celery.
Brussel Sprouts.
Assorted peppers. The produce is almost as colorful as the fall foliage. The leaf turning has accelerated in the past couple of days, although colors are still muted due to the cloud cover.
Our weather is about to turn blustery with showers. Tomorrow we only have highs in the 40's F (4 to 5 C). At that point the weekly farmers market will be completely indoors.
The season continues to change.
Very colorful indeed
ReplyDeleteHarvest colours are definitely organic
ReplyDeletePretty produce! Cooler here today too:)
ReplyDelete...Romanesco broccoli is new for me!
ReplyDeleteHighs in the 40s? 40s is a low, not a high. (Yes, I'm spoiled from where I live.)
ReplyDeleteIn the 30s this morning but they are predicting 70s for Tuesday. Gotta love Michigan weather. I used to enjoy both the local farmer's market and the very large one in downtown Detroit. Been ages since I visited.
ReplyDeleteHi Alana - looks amazing and delicious ... I love all fresh produce, but those Romanesco looks to be delicious - cheers Hilary
