Fall Fancies - Underperforming

Pictures taken the past week where I live in upstate New York.

We escaped a frost yesterday.  Now our mild fall is trying to make a comeback, but at the expense of fall beauty.  The trees are under-performing.  This picture was taken yesterday in downtown Binghamton, New York.
Taken Saturday in Maine, this area is a frost pocket.
Pumpkins a'plenty.
More winter squash, and ornamental corn.

  1. It's been so darned warm, our trees haven't changed yet. I was going to visit my daughter in Charlottesville this weekend (via Skyline Drive, a beautiful- but MOST EXTENSIVE detour route) to get in my views.

  3. I posted pics from five years ago today. It's like a different country. In the 70's today.

  4. Facebook just showed me a picture of Niagara Falls from this time last year. The foliage was so beautiful!

  5. I just returned from a walk in my favorite Metro Park in Cleveland and felt the same the the usual fire in the trees is absent; no frost and a very dry summer.

  6. Will the leaves try to catch up when it gets cold? Or does it just become a dud of fall leaves?
