Welcome to 2022 #MusicMovesMe

Welcome to another year of Music Moves Me!

Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!)   First, there is XmasDolly.  Her co-hosts are: Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and me.

I want to thank those who have joined us for our weeks of holiday music. We'd love more music lovers to join us.  It's easy! All you have to do is join the linky above with a music post that contains at least one music video (there must be a music video).

Each month, except December, we have a guest conductor. For January, our guest conductor is none other than Cathy at Curious as a Cathy.

Cathy has declared this week to be Freedom of Music Choice.  We can blog about any music we want.

We were all stunned by the passing of national treasure Betty White on New Years Eve.  But, besides being an actress, comedian, and author, did you know that Betty White could sing?

Check out her voice on this 1954 clip from her TV show.  Betty White covers a 1931 song called Nevertheless I'm In Love With You.

Also, from 1954, Betty sings "It's a Good Day".

How can I not include the song that became the theme song to The Golden Girls, Andrew Gold and "Thank You for Being a Friend"?

I was planning to feature songs mentioning doctors, dentists or other health care workers this week, and I'm going to go with some of my picks.  So many of these songs are related more to love than medicine, but let's go with it.

Jackson Browne and "Doctor My Eyes".

"Doctor! Doctor!" by the Thompson Twins.

"Weird" Al Yankovic and "Cavity Search".

Here's a couple more songs that speak to me today.  First, Steve Winwood and his 1986 hit Higher Love.

Wrapping up with 1981's Don't Stop Believing by Journey.

Happy 2022 to all my readers and the other members of Music Moves Me.

"See" you again next week, same time, same place.

  4. Happy New Year, Alana! I'm running late. Our electricity was out for most of the day, as well as our Internet. We got 3-4 inches of snow last night and it's been a chilly day. I'm ready for spring. lol It was so sad that Betty White passed on the eve of the new year. She was a special lady and her humor always made me laugh. Great tribute to the late star who's now brightly shining above us. The medical community is bracing another Covid explosion so we definitely need to honor these courages individuals. May the new year bring nothing but good things to you and your, dear friend. Have a boogietastic week!

  6. What a wonderful collection of songs to bring in 2022. Especially as they rekindle memories for each of these songs (ok- didn't know cavity search or doctor doctor... but the rest- Stevie Winwood, Jackson Browne, and, of course, the inimitable Betty!) Woo Hoo!
