Unexpected November Sunset (Part 2)

This is part 2 of one of the loveliest sunsets I've seen in months.

(For the beginning of this sunset extravaganza, please see last Friday's post.)  Because of some comments, I also want to warn people that the color may not be too enjoyable if you've been impacted by fire - the sky literally looked like it was on fire.

This is where I left you last Friday.
The redish line under the hills is a river.

Doesn't the river look like it's on fire?

The sun had set minutes before but the afterglow still appears between several of the trees that line the river bank.

Spouse (these pictures taken with his iPhone SE 3rd edition) and I moved a few feet away where we had a better view.
And to all, a good night.

I didn't have much hope for this particular sunset, but did the sky prove me wrong! I love when the sky surprises me.

Now, I have a little surprise for my readers.  I took the plunge (way past when I should have) and am now the proud owner of an iPhone 13 mini.  Now all I have to do is learn to use the camera.  My new photos won't show up right away but give me a chance and I hope I can get you more captures like this in the New Year.

  1. I love when the sky surprises me too, especially when I'm feeling down. A little (in this case a lot) of beauty goes a long way towards changing my mood.

  3. New iPhone? Yay! I know how long it can take to switch something like that. (I'm still driving a 1993 car.) So, only well-wishes on the new toy from me.

  7. Those are amazing photos. Great captures.

Congratus on your new phone. My son's iphone 7 failed and our carrier had a deal on the iphone 13 mini so he has one now. I have two or three payments left on my SE and I might have a iphone 13 mini myself if they still have a deal on it. So I'm looking forward to seeing photos from your new phone.
