Sunset on the River #SkywatchFriday

It's strange - for years I've woken up early on Black Friday and gone shopping.  For the first time in years, I'm not.

I'm taking it easy today.  Yesterday was Thanksgiving in my country (United States) when we gather with family and/or friends to eat together and give thanks.  It both brings back old memories and makes new ones for me.  Yesterday was also the fifth anniversary of the death of my mother in law and so was a little bittersweet.

I'm thankful for the Skywatch Friday family and would like to thank everyone who has read these posts over the past several years.

Today, a combination post of two sunsets over a river. November 13

The next two are from November 14.

It's hard to see, but in the red spot you can see distant trees.  There is just something about trees with bare limbs, and almost all our trees are bare now.

Joining Yogi and other skywatchers today at #SkywatchFriday.

  2. Believe it or not, but I have never shopped on Black Friday. I hate shopping and that has to be the worst day to do it.

  3. I love your sunsets. For years while I worked on Wednesday after work I would go running along the Arkansas River. I captured a great many sunset shots in the wintertime.
I also like trees in the winter when they show their "bones."
I haven't shopped on black friday for years. Generally an environmental organization that I am part of would hold a photo scavenger hunt at a park and so I would sit at a table freezing helping enter. We put that on pause this year and I'm kind of glad.

  4. That's pretty! I like the first best, since it has the trees in silhouette.

  5. Beautiful, the colors in that last picture almost look like the start of a rainbow.

  7. I don't see many sunrises as I am not an early riser, so I make it up with sunsets. I've seen amazing sunsets over the years. I love the sunset in your first picture.

  8. Glad to hear you took Black Friday off. (Alas, I ended up out in it, but only because my garage opener needed a new battery.) Lovely skies.
