Late October and early November in upstate New York. In the Binghamton, New York area, I'm able to see the dawn as I travel to work.
You can see some strange things at sunrise.
I don't know what these contrail like ropy, dancing things going straight up and down were. It isn't smoke. Contrails? I've never seen something quite like this, almost like they are dancing.
This, taken just before sunrise on Halloween (October 31) morning, was more normal (and dramatic).
Come visit other blogs today for Skywatch Friday, where you can see dramatic sky pictures from all over the world.
Day 4 of NaBloPoMo.
I'm looking forward to syzygy!
ReplyDelete10 more days!
DeleteBeautiful views of the sky.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI like the effect in the first photo
ReplyDeleteI thought it was just so strange - happy you liked it.
DeleteWhat lovely sunrise shots.
ReplyDeleteI love the sunrise through clouds!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that you are posting on your blog and doing NaNoWriMo. I had hopes of participating this year but just don't have the time. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI think I've more or less decided not to continue with NaNoWriMo. I just don't have the "fire in the belly" this time but I may still add to the manuscript from time to time.
DeleteI should go up and watch the sunrise more often. I always like it wen I do.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch the sunrise that much except during the time of year when it coincides with my waking or traveling to work. I always like it, too, but I don't like getting up before I need to wake up.
DeleteWhatever those ropy dancing things are, they add so much movement and interest to the sky. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't figured out what they are. But it sure was unusual.
DeleteThose are strange looking contrails. I wonder what caused them.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever find out, I'll blog about it.
DeleteBeautiful shots. Our skies look like that at this time of year. Central B.C., Canada.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been posting in SkyWatch Friday for long - it will be interesting to see the skies all over the world change as he seasons progress.
