Skywatch Friday- Looming
November 11, 2016.
Vestal, New York, after sunset.
This was the sky just around sunrise that same day, in nearby Johnson City, New York.
Visit #SkywatchFriday for pictures of the sky from around the world.
Although both pictures are beautiful, the first is a bit ominous, the second more hopeful. Love the way we react to pictures not just with our sight but with our feelings.
That is quite a sky. Really beautiful. The colors are great. It looks so dramatic. That would make a great painting... If only I knew how to paint clouds... sigh.
I remember these skies from childhood in the area. Something about proximity to the Susquehanna River influences the cloud formations. Also remember the mysterious morning fogs.

ReplyDeleteThe first picture looks as though a storm is in making. And the second one looks so calm . Like the after math of the storm..
