The cherry tree stands on a median between the sidewalk and a street on the West Side of Binghamton, New York.
Its trunk is twisted. But once a year, it blooms, with beautiful double flowers, like miniature carnations.
Here's a closer look.
"Persevere against the odds" says the tree. "Don't be concerned by my age. Instead, take comfort from my strength." And finally, one more piece of wisdom: "There is beauty even in times of stress."
Join Parul and other tree loving bloggers each second and fourth Thursdays of the month for #ThursdayTreeLove. After you do, could I ask one more favor of you, dear reader?
I jumped the gun and posted a tree post last Thursday, too. Why not visit it and show some Tree Love to it, too?
I'd love it if you do.
Tomorrow, why not join me for a combination #SkywatchFriday and #GardenBloggersBloomDay?
It's a beautiful tree, Resilient. More beautiful because of its "flaws".
