Winter Wonders - Winter Has Arrived

Every Wednesday from now until spring begins in March, I will have a winter-related post.
Winter began today at 5:44 local time.

Today, a building in the small community of Maine, New York, with an old-fashioned commercial on its side.

For my fans in places that rarely see snow, the coming months should be a treat for you.  Not only that, but I read a news article yesterday saying that Binghamton, New York leads the eastern United States in total snowfall so far this season.

Yay, us.

Happy Winter!  Happy holiday season.

  1. Lake effect snow hasn't quite taken hold. Once it does, you will be left in the (white) dust.

  4. I LOVE SNOW!!! Did that sound uber enthusiastic? Good thing I live in Canada. Although, so far this year, we've only had a few inches. Snowless by our standards . . .

  5. Love the idea of celebrating winter! This time of year makes me nostalgic for sledding, tobogganing, ice skating and all things happy from my Michigan childhood! Merry Christmas!

  6. Binghamton, New York? I have never been to Binghamton but commend you for your resolve. Not everyone can claim the internal fortitude to brave the long winter and avalanche levels of snow. Keep writing and help us enjoy it from afar. :)

  7. After recently living six years in places that have snow, I do sort of find myself missing it a bit. Mostly, I just really miss wearing a scarf & the occasional pair of gloves!

  8. "Rarely see snow"? To see snow, I must travel 2 hours on winding mountain roads. But I'm okay with that. I'll enjoy your pictures.
