Thanksgiving Past and Present #WordlessWednesday

Some pictures taken over the years to set the holiday mood, as tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the United States.  I wish all my American readers a Happy Thanksgiving.

Decorations from 2020.

Thanksgiving turkey (right side) from MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora, New York, 2024.

Finally, a pumpkin pie I baked yesterday.  Yes, the crust is a little overdone but I'm sure we'll enjoy it. Strange how I never liked pumpkin pie until less than 10 years ago.

  4. Beautiful, but I got stuck on the pumpkin pie. My favorite of all pies. Vanilla ice cream with a big slice of pumpkin pie and I'm in heaven.

  6. That's a BIG pie! I love it. I've been spending more time baking in my kitchen recently since we got a new cabinet painting. I need that recipe for the pumpkin pie. Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. Your pie looks yummy! As a kid I pumpkin pie was my last pick for deserts. Progressing into adulthood I tolerated it and revered its presence for holidays. But like you I did a turn around 10 or 20 years ago. Now, I like many things in pumpkin spice. It’s interesting how my taste has changed and I'm glad that it did. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, my dear. This one should be a lot better ! XO

  11. Interesting that you only recently developed a like for pumpkin pie. I've never enjoyed it either, but I now find I like things I didn't used to like. I should probably have a slice and test it.
