We are rapidly approaching the end of Spring in upstate New York. Another couple of weeks and it will be summer.
It seems like that there was snow on the ground just yesterday. Not that I am wishing for it to return anytime soon. But the knowledge of winter is what makes the enjoyment of spring so sweet.
So I am going to keep this post short and sweet, and let the spring flowers do the talking.
I recently purchased these columbine Origami blue and white, and they now have an honored place in my backyard. Like so many "blue" flowers, these are really purple (and a light purple at that.)
In my front yard, alliums bloom.
Outside my garden, Korean dogwoods are finishing up their bloom. I don't have much room on my small plot of land for trees.
And, we finally have roses blooming in our neighborhoods. These were fragrant, too.
What are your favorite summer activities?
Welcome! I hope I bring a spot of calm and happiness into these uncertain times. I blog about my photography adventures, flowers, gardening, the importance of chocolate in a well lived life, or anything else on my mind.

I suppose that's why summer isn't such a big deal here. We don't have winters...
ReplyDeleteMy kids love our allium. They call them lollipop flowers :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteI garden, then I garden some more, then I clean up the garden so I can shovel snow.
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty
ReplyDeleteSadly I don't have a garden at the moment, one of the few downsides to living in London, but I like looking at the neighbours gardens. Luckily they all appear to have green fingers.
