In my various travelings to and from my mother in law who lives some 150 miles away from me (I've been there with my spouse almost every weekend since mid-June and sometimes on Fridays and/or Mondays, too), I look forward to seeing my home flower garden when I return.
This is what was waiting for me after my last commute this past weekend.
These are day lilies glowing in the late afternoon light. I love how this picture came out - taken, like all my other photos, with my iPhone 4S.
Tall Phlox.
Yellow and Red nasturtiums.
And finally, one more picture of my glowing lilies, this time in a group.
For a minute, all my cares and tiredness washed away, to be replaced by a humble amazement. (And then it returned, but you can't get everything you want.)
What are your favorite flowers?
Welcome! I hope I bring a spot of calm and happiness into these uncertain times. I blog about my photography adventures, flowers, gardening, the importance of chocolate in a well lived life, or anything else on my mind.

ReplyDeleteWow they are beautiful. .God only knows if I had a garden goodness. ..great job
ReplyDeleteThese is nothing more perfect than a flower. You've captured their essence so well, Alana. To gaze at a perfect lily like these reminds me of the wonder of nature. Life and death form part of the cycle, and a flower reminds us of this so well.
ReplyDeleteBeauriful pics!
ReplyDeleteThose are great. Glad you had something beautiful waiting for you at home.
