Friday, January 13, 2017 in upstate New York.
We are close to sunrise, but the clouds look pretty grim.
It starts to brighten.
Finally, the sun is about to appear, about four miles down the road.
Visit #SkywatchFriday for more pictures of the sky, the sun, and more.

I am afraid those gathering clouds will settle over our country for the next four years. We are in the fog here.
ReplyDeleteYes, there was deliberate symbolism in the pictures I chose.
DeleteIt's so stark and yet so beautiful - very different to our summer skies here in Australia.
ReplyDeleteUsually our skies are more gloom, all covered in clouds like a grey blanket.
DeleteThe first sights look realy threatening. Glad it cleared up.
ReplyDeleteIt was not your normal sky for January - we have more gloom and thick, grey clouds.
DeleteI'm loving those clouds!
ReplyDeleteWe have more gloom than clouds this time of year - hoping I can see some sun this weekend.
DeleteWhat beautiful photos!!! I love watching the sun rise.
ReplyDeleteSo do I - I like sunsets, too.
DeleteAwesome sky shots of the 'gathering clouds' for Friday ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Weekend ~ ^_^
You also, Carol. Hope you have a happy weekend, too.
DeleteLovely sky and those shots. I wish I had known you when I visited NY. It would have been great to meet you. :)

DeleteVery pretty skies!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI dunno, Alana, I see our years of clouds and storms..
ReplyDeleteThere was some symbolism in this post, which you obviously fund.
DeleteThose clouds were looking pretty ominous. I'm surprised to see they cleared and gave way to such a beautiful sunrise.
ReplyDeleteClearing is rare this month where I live. It was a happy event, indeed.
DeleteWe've had more rain in NorCal than I can remember for a LONG, LONG time. I followed a dark sky and was poured on today as I was making a Craig's List sale at our local Starbucks. Nice pics! I love clouds and skies!
ReplyDeleteRain is good. Too much rain is bad. Very bad. I hope the weather evens out for you and for all of us.
DeleteBeautiful photos! I love photography clouds, I did a photo blog post about some of mine awhile back. Your middle picture is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words.
DeleteAhh, the symbolism of those clouds! Thank you for visiting my blog, chocolate -loving bookworm, we sound like twins!
ReplyDeleteNice to know there is another chocolate loving bookworm out there. And thank you for returning my visit!
DeleteLovely clouds! Hope the sun is back!
ReplyDeleteThe sun is quite shy at this time of year - it shines on others. But one day, spring will be here.
