A sunny Monday (two days ago).
My "guest photographer" contributes this picture of Mr. and Mrs. Duck sunning themselves steps from the busy sidewalks of downtown Binghamton, New York.

Cool
ReplyDeleteI had ducks nesting in my front bushes a few years ago but the raccoons got all the eggs. All the birds are busy right now making nests in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't convinced of the matrimony, but I liked the colors
ReplyDeleteNice quality time together! I was wondering if a couple would be so quiet?
ReplyDeleteYour "guest photographer" got a very nice picture. Mallards really are quite photogenic and at least they will hold still for you, unlike songbirds.
ReplyDeleteNow I’m confused ... my friend in NJ told me these were calledCanada Geese. So are they really ducks who are called geese ( like our flat fish Bombay Duck which is actually a fish! ) or are they geese ?
ReplyDeleteThe birds in this picture are mallard ducks. There are a number of wild ducks and geese in the Northeast United States. The brown duck is female and the colorful duck is the male (drake). Canada Geese have long black necks, black heads with white cheeks, and brown and white bodies. Males and females look similar. Also, they have become a nuisance in many parts of our country.
DeleteDucks are cool. Geese, on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteCanada geese are not cool. Other geese are cool, and all ducks are cool. That's my personal opinion, anyway.
DeleteMy great grandparents lived next to a lake that had a pair of ducks and several pairs of geese in residence.Their arrival and departure was a seasonal event for us for a long time.
ReplyDeleteCute ducks. A couple of ducks visit our pool form time to time. It’s so funny to see them lazing around in the water. Nice click, Alana.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice couple time for Mr and Mrs Duck! They look so cozy together!! :D Thank you very much for linking up with your lovely #ww post this week, Alana.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Alana for linking up with this cosy post of the Duckies. They sure look blissful and at peace together.
