May The Fourth be Music and an A to Z Retrospective #MusicMovesMe #AtoZChallenge

May the Fourth Be With You on this Music Moves Me Monday!

Who are the members of Music Moves Me ?  We are bloggers who blog with music each Monday. If you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only- Please post containing links to You Tube or Vimeo for actual music.  Other posts are subject to removal or labeling as "No Music".)  Every other week we have a theme and on alternate weeks we have "You Pick".

Our conductors? First, there is XmasDolly.  Her chief co-conductor is Cathy of Curious as a Cathy. Her other co-conductors are Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, and me.

For May, our guest conductor is Cynthia at Ccol4him's Claymania, and I think we are going to have a lot of fun this month!

Welcome, Cynthia! Today we are having a "You Pick" day.  And, it is also the Blogging from A to Z Retrospective, and the fourth of May - also known as "May the Fourth Be With You."

So I should start with a Star Wars themed song: Meco and their Star Wars Melody.  I've had this song on my blog before, but I just couldn't resist.  It's long, so don't feel you have to hang around for the whole enchilada (so to speak).

If that isn't enough, Meco also did one for The Empire Strikes Back (it's a lot shorter, too.)

Here's a song of retrospection - The Pet Shop Boys and It's a Sin.

OK, maybe we are getting a little far out here, so I will rope this post back in with another 80's favorite of mine:  a-ha's The Sun Always Shines on TV.  This song always cheers me - we need some sunshine in these days.

And now, it's time for:

What can I say?  We live in strange times.  My theme "America the Beautiful" turned more into "my neighborhood the beautiful, along with some travel memories".  But, I did find some blogs that I will keep reading, and that's been true of all my A to Z experiences (the first one being in 2015).   With that, I also thank the bloggers who visited my blog for the first time.

Some of those blogs I found due to Blogging from A to Z I've been reading since 2015.  That included some that led me to being invited to join Music Moves Me (and, later, being invited to be one of the conductors.)  So, as the saying goes, how cool is that?

Part of A to Z is visiting other blogs, and I admit to falling down in that category.   Again.  Sigh.  But this time, I had a reason - a local relative hospitalized due to COVID-19.  And, I have some good news - he was released from the hospital last Monday after three weeks in the hospital (although his recovery will take a while longer, he's on that recovery road).  Time to celebrate, and time to thank everyone who sent good thoughts or prayed for his recovery - THANK YOU.

Will I participate next year?  How about this song from The Kinks?

Definite Maybe.

Join me again next Monday for another episode of #MusicMovesMe - same time, same place.

  1. The only song I truly remembered (I don't consider Star Wars a song) was the Kinks.
    Thanks for the tour!

  2. So glad to hear your relative is on the mend. You did a great job of blogging, visiting and commenting given this personal stress -- so be kind to yourself on that score. A to Z this year was about diversion from the unfolding Covid-19 calamity, so whatever helped the process was a plus. That said, thank you for your visits/comments on Molly's Canopy. I felt like we had traded places, since you are from NYC where I live and I grew up in Endwell near where you live now. So it was a pleasure to read your regular comments and connect with someone who misses Philly's Sales like I do :-) I hope we can continue that connection going forward. Stay safe and well.

  3. The whole concept of "May the fourth be with you" escapes me until I see it on someone else's blog. Thanks for the reminder and for sharing your music today. Have a blessed week.

  6. Congrats on making it through the challenge. I know how hard the visiting other blogs can be, which is the reason I wasn't officially doing it. The first time I heard that it was Star Wars day was the day my nephew was born. He turns 10 today...

  7. PERSONALLY, I think these tunes are some resting tunes just go sit in the recliner, sit back and listen! Doesn't that feel great! Great job my friend. Love how you planned this. Hugs & stay healthy!!! Thanks for such a great job on the dance floor too! Woo hoo... Not Kat is going on a sort of hiatus all week long, but I think it's for a month. She's been working really hard on her blog so she's taking a break except for Monday's. I think we'll try to take away any probs on Monday too. So let's make sure we visit everyone and if she misses some she won't feel so bad cuz we'll have her back! WAY TA GO GIRLFRIEND! Have a goodnight and if you need anything just let me know and I'll see what I can do. HUGS THANKS FOR THE DANCE! WOO HOO

  10. Alana,

You're the second person to feature Star Wars themed mewsic. I had no clue but it's fun boogieing to the old themes or a remix. versions. We got through April. It was struggle for some more than others with the heaviness of Covid-19. I'm glad to read your neighbor is out of the hospital. I hope your BIL is doing well. I apologize for not keeping better in touch these last few weeks. Your A2Z theme was purrfect. I think as long as we're having fun sharing then that's all that matters. Hopefully, we'll find our way back to a new normal soon. I hope everyone exercises good common sense and don't fall back into the trap of not washing hands frequently or cross contaminating germs from your hands to another surface and to walking through coughs/sneezes without a thought. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me, my dear. Have a boogietastic week and stay healthy! ;)

  11. Thanks for being part of A to Z again this year! And don't worry, there'll be plenty of time to catch up on the visiting during the road trip, which starts a week from next Monday. I liked your theme, even if it was necessarily limited by Covid-19. You live in a nice area...

I know The Pet Shop Boys and a-ha did much more than the one single each that gets played to deeath, so thanks for featuring those songs.

  14. Good you relative is recovering. America is now challenged. Its scientific community is challenged. Hope they will come out with a solution quickly. In the mean time hop there will be discipline to minimize the human life as much as possible due to this epidemic disease.
