Wishin' and Dreamin' #MusicMovesMe

It's that time of week - it's time for (drum roll)...

Music Moves Me!

Yes, it's time for Music Moves Me!

Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? We are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share with us, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!)   First, there is XmasDolly.  Her co-hosts are: Stacy of Stacy Uncorked, Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and me.

We'd love more music lovers to join us.  It's easy! All you have to do is join the linky above with a music post that contains at least one music video (there must be a music video).  And that's it!

Each month we have a guest conductor. Today, for the month of October, we welcome John from The Sound of One Hand Typing. For today, he has declared a "You Pick" week - we can pick whatever we want.

Speaking of guest conductors, we will need some for 2022, so why don't you start thinking of a month and themes for the month and you can be a guest conductor, too!  (December is always taken - but there are 11 months to choose from).

I'm wishing today.  Wishing for a lot of things.  So I decided to make "wishin' and dreamin'" my theme for today.

Wishin' and Hoping - Dusty Springfield.

Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You) - A Flock of Seagulls

What may become the state song of California - the Temptations and I Wish It Would Rain.  This 1967 song has a sad origin story, I've read - the songwriter had recently discovered his wife was unfaithful.   A week after this song was released, he committed suicide.

One of my favorite groups - the Moody Blues - and 1986's "Your Wildest Dreams".

Gary Wright and his 1975-6 hit "Dream Weaver".

I'll end it with the incomparable "Daydream Believer" by the Monkees, from 1968.  This was later covered by Anne Murray as a country song.

And that's a wrap!

Join us again next week, same time, same place, for another episode of Music Moves Me.

  2. Alana,

Thanks for reminding folks we need volunteers for the new year. I think I will kick off the new year by going with January. So, count on me to fill that slot. I'll have a new page going up before the week is over and I'll have my themes for January up hopefully then, too. I hope others will think about picking their favorite month for 2022 for the honorary co-host spot. Thanks for sharing a wonderful set of songs to kick off the first week of October. You gave some wonderful ear candy from the past. I like your general 'dream' theme with your selections. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

  3. Perfect playlist. Though I didn't know about the sad story. Sigh.

  7. Wishin' is a great theme for you to pick. I did have to laugh at (and sing along with) your addition of the Monkees at the end,

  8. The Moody's wer among my favorites, too! Never heard of the song Wishing or the Seagulls. Nor was I a fan of the business band, the Monkees. But, I loved the rest.
