It's now winter in this most surprising of years.
As the sun set on the last day of fall, we took a walk by the Susquehanna River. We didn't have our normally gloomy skies. It was time for a seasonal transition celebration.
The last sunrise of fall - I missed it again, too busy with getting ready for at home work. So this was taken too late, but I liked the clouds.
Before I knew it, it was time for the first sunset of winter.
A nice place for a bench. But I was too uncomfortable to sit and watch. After I watched the sun disappear and the clouds start to pink up, I was ready for home and a hot drink. So guess what? It snowed yesterday (although not much accumulation). It's snowing again right now. Yes, winter is really here.
Merry Christmas to all my readers who celebrate Christmas.
...beautiful wispy skies!
ReplyDeletejust loved looking at these shots. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here yet, it's actually been fairly warm. The good news is my son finally got to ski yesterday, it's snowing in the mountains.
ReplyDeleteSnow or not, the sunsets are worth taking time to enjoy.
Beautiful skies, and great idea to capture the first sunset of winter!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shots! Awesome ~ Xo

Even if it isn't exactly dawn or sunset, the colors that play out in the sky are nice.
ReplyDeleteHappy snow days to you. The days of no school for snow are now long past, given our history of virutality... Probably true for worddays, too.
ReplyDeleteI miss out on a lot of sunsets these days. Used to be, when I worked, I ran after work on our river parks trails so I saw a lot. Now, I go in the middle of the afternoon when it is warmer. Sometimes I can't believe I spent so many winter evenings running in the dark.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture you got.
Look like winter.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a fine Holiday
