The first sunset I've gone out to see with my spouse this year had me wondering - would it be a good one?
We've been in a warm and wet weather pattern this year so far where I live in New York but yesterday it got up to 57 F(13.8 C). Or, shall I say that's how the day started? Unbelievable.
The temperature dropped a little as the day progressed. By sunset time it had cooled to 51F (10.5C) and clouds were gathering.
At least it would be warm enough for me to take gloves off and take pictures without too much discomfort (I have a circulatory issue that affects my extremities).
Right after sunset.
In the east, the moon was rising. (Again, maximum zoom. The clouds are causing the halo around the moon.
Now, the blue hour is in progress and you could see blue within the sunset color show.
One last picture, at maximum zoom one last time.
Here's hoping you all have a wonderful year of photography or skywatching.
Joining Yogi and other skywatchers for #SkywatchFriday.
...I hope that this the first of many for you to enjoy 2023.
ReplyDeleteThat was a sunset well worth waiting for. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors
ReplyDeleteLovely! Especially the silhouettes of the winter trees
ReplyDeleteThese look like paintings! Thank you for sharing this beauty!
ReplyDeleteWow, both Mother Nature and your photography skills are showing off in these pictures.

The sky is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSunsets at my house are thickly screened by trees so I don't get to enjoy them all the way down. But it is a magical time of day when the day crew goes to rest and the night crew takes over.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.
ReplyDelete(You know, there are gloves that are made so you can use touch screens while wearing them. I bought a pair for my dad's wife, and she says they work.)
Number two is my fav. Orange is my fav color so..
ReplyDeleteI love your sunsets, the best ones have color like yours. I love the tree silhouettes and the river in front. I also have a circulatory issue that makes taking my gloves off to take photo kind of painful.
ReplyDeleteIt has been warmer here, although it hasn't made it above 40 yet.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Beautiful photos to kick off the new year! The iPhones do a wonderful job.
