Instead of a huge burst of color and bare November trees, our display of color dribbles and dribbles through October into November. We still have a lot of green trees, but the color show (eagerly awaited, especially, by my readers in India) is now in progress.
These pictures were taken between October 29 and October 30, some in downtown Binghamton, New York and others on the West side of Binghamton.
Green and yellow all in one, and you can see the more usual clouds of late October.
I have lived in upstate New York for over 30 years now. Years ago, most all of our leaves were gone by the first week of November. Today, with climate change, it's a different world for us in the Northeast United States.
Do you get fall color where you live?
We get nice autumn color here but, since most of our forests consist of evergreen trees, we don't have the giant swaths of color like one sees in your neck of the woods. Fortunately, there are lots of stunning maples, oaks, gingkos, etc. planted all over town that are putting on quite a show! This takes a bit of the sting out of summer ending.

ReplyDeleteI lived in vestal 40 years ago and now I'm in Houston. I really miss the beautiful and vibrant fall colors. I made a trip back to vestal/Binghamton 2 years ago just to see the color. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! I love the contrast between nature and dwellings! Here in Montreal, we have beautiful colors as well, especially what is referred to as "up north". It's a mountainous area covered with trees :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful fall colors! We were planning to go to Flagstaff, country side in North Arizona, to enjoy the fall colors last week, but we couldn't due to sickness at home. I love this season and the burst of colors it brings. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Alana.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful trees... I could just look at that red one for hours.. We don't have the colors here in Idaho like back home in Michigan but I've learned to embrace the beauty none-the-less. Still my heart does aches for all of those colors. Thanks for sharing such beauty.
