Flooded Park Skies #SkywatchFriday

On May 1, our area experienced localized flooding.  This local park has flooded a lot worse, but it made for some interesting sights.

Let's check it out.

Nice, puffy clouds,  Center bottom of the photo is a walking path leading into what had become the river.
Canada Geese (in the distance, look like dots) were enjoying themselves.
No one is going to park here (the bottom part of photo is the parking lot).

This picnic has been cancelled.

Later in the week, clouds gathered again, but the flooding was done.

One more view as the waters receded.

By May 5, mud on the paths it had dried and left interesting patterns.  For a few weeks, this mud will be hazardous for walking if it's wet.

We escaped the worst.

Joining Yogi and other skywatchers every Friday for #SkywatchFriday.

    1. Not every year, but it does flood frequently enough. The park is a low spot and is adjacent to a river.

  5. Water can be so destructive. My favorite picture today is the one of the water receding.

  6. So far, my little corner of Michigan has escaped the heavy rain. We've been lucky. Others, not so much.

    1. Not every year, but it does flood frequently enough. It's along where a local creek meets up with the Susquehanna River and is a low spot - probably that's the reason why it's a park and not used for houses.

  9. Wow, it looks like a lot of flooding. Instead of baseball, perhaps water polo!?

  11. The flooding made a pretty lake although the grass, trees, and animals wouldn't have been happy

  14. The Susquehanna in spring always made me nervous as a child. It’s always a relief when the flooding is minimal — but no way to predict it! These photos brought back some of those memories.

  15. If CANADA Geese are enjoying themselves, then that's a good thing!

  16. Is that the same area that you've shared flooded in the past? If so, it sure has a problem! And requires a lot of maintenance.
