Any guesses what breed this cat is?
This 13 year old cat, owned by someone we know, is possibly the friendliest cat I've ever experienced, coming right up to people, asking to be petted. Doesn't eat plants. Doesn't rip up furniture. I met him or her (I forgot which!) for the first time on Saturday. They also told me the weight, which I forgot.
But this cat's servants don't know the cat's breed.
I did not take measurements and, unfortunately, this picture doesn't show the tail.
My cat identifier function on my iPhone guesses either Norwegian forest cat or Maine Coon Cat.
My dear cat loving friends: any guesses?

Probably an all-American mixed breed with long hair, but could have NFC or MCC in the mix. Or just an oversized Manx mix with American Long Hair, like our unforgettable Graybelle.
ReplyDeleteMixed breeds can be some of the most lovable pets!

...well it's a fluffy cat for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat cat looks just like our cat Sophie who we lost a couple years ago. Beautiful cat.
ReplyDeleteI do not know anything about your questions, but this cat seems to be different, not only about you've said, but about the look. My first ideea was... a fox! You may laugh hard...
ReplyDeleteHappy WW, Alana! A fine week ahead!💗😘
What a beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteHandsome cat. He/she has the longer face of a Maine Coon or possibly crossed with one.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but I think it's a love bug cat. Yes, that's what this good looking cat is.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
I've never had a cat so I have no idea what kind it might be.
ReplyDeleteThat's a difficult one. Maybe it's a Nebelung Cat, but it sure is a sweetie😻Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteA pretty cat, most likely nothing purebred.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no idea. My brother had a similar-looking cat a decade ago. (Babys is no longer with us.) She loved getting shaved in the summer, but I digress. Maine Coon cats are huge, from what I've heard.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet and friendly cat! From your description, it sounds like a gentle giant. Based on the features you mentioned, I would lean toward a **Maine Coon**—they are known for their affectionate nature and large size. The fluffy coat and friendly personality really fit the description!
ReplyDeleteI just shared a new post; you are invited to read and enjoy. www.melodyjacob.com. Thank you!
Alana, is it allright if I share this picture on our bloggie, maybe our other furriends know what breed it could be? Extra Pawkisses🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteYes, Granny, it's OK. Thank you!
DeleteGorgeous kitty ~ precious ~ hugs,

It could have some Maine coon in it but it doesn't look like a purebred, but I'm not a cat expert. I'm sure someone in Blogosphere will be of help. If you follow Brian's Home then they might have an answer.
ReplyDeleteNot sure, but he is such a cutie.
ReplyDeleteHi Alana, our furriends came up with these answers:
ReplyDeleteA Norwegian Forest cat, a Siberian Forest Cat, another Nebelung, and a few thought a Maine Coon, but when it is a Maine Coon he has to be a very big cat, but almost all think that it's a mix. Well, at least it's a great cat❤️Double Pawkisses🐾😽💞
