Today, two memes I participate in, Wordless Wednesday (hosted by Sandee of Comedy Plus) and Garden Bloggers Bloom Day (hosted by Carol of May Dreams Gardens) collide.
I hope my Wordless Wednesday readers enjoy the remnants of my outdoor flowers. Garden Bloggers Bloom Days, the 15th of each month, is a place where gardeners from all over the world share what is blooming in their yards and/or homes.
In my zone 6a Southern Tier of New York garden, not many flowers are left. We've dodged three frosts/freezes at my house (many around us weren't as fortunate) and it is going to get down into the 30's tonight.
This October, I took some of these pictures on Saturday, not knowing if we'd have a storm Sunday and Monday. It turned out to be just some rain for us.
Anyway, I've said enough. Onward to the flowers!
Cuphea. Both of these were mailordered, and I was so happy with both varieties I purchased.Yellow lantana. The remnants of my cultivated New England aster.Sedum "I have no idea what variety this is -I've just had it forever".I cut way back on hanging baskets. This sunpatien hanging from my front porch roof is about done. White geranium.Taken Saturday, this was a pleasant surprise daylily.
Last but not least, I also took this picture Saturday because I knew, with a heavy rain, it wouldn't look like much by today.
Thank you for stopping by!

The flowers are still lovely. Sad that they’ll be gone soon.
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely! We have dodged a couple of frosts as well and are still waiting for a real one, but all of the houseplants are tucked inside for safety. Happy GBBD! https://juliewitmergardens.substack.com/
ReplyDeleteI can't comment on your blog so I'm posting what I would have said here: "The bees love your gardens and so do I. I couldn't believe those bee videos. You had a great selection of colors, and that flower arrangement in the vase was a great beginning. I don't grow anything that has to be dug up in the fall anymore so I especially enjoyed your peacock orchids and the lighting (golden hour?) lighting on your David Howard dahlia. Happy GBBD to you, too." I hope you can provide a way to comment without setting up an account so I hope you get to see this comment.
Delete...the only ones lingering on here are my sedums.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the flowers still hanging on and braving the weather.
ReplyDeleteLovely garden photos ~ thanks,

Well, at least you have a few flowers. I got nothing but leaves.
ReplyDeleteMost beautiful. Ours are still okay, but we'll lose many at some point. Color in the yard is most wonderful. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Lovely flowers, Alana! ☺ Happy Wednesday to you.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be the sad time of the year, when you start to lose the blooms. But winter just means that spring is coming, right?
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms, as always.
ReplyDeletebeautiful, you have green fingers.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are so pretty! Very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteSo many beauties in your garden. My only regret is that I do not
ReplyDeleteknow very much about them.
Happy WW, Alana! A fine week!❤️😘
Our climates may be very different but we have some flowers in common this Bloom Day, namely Cuphea, Lantana, and Japanese anemone. No freezes here but we got our first real rain since early May so we were dry as dust until yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised with the amount of blooms with your first frosts already! I like the Cuphea, do you notice humminbirds on it?
ReplyDeleteWe're ready for summer flowers to go and fall ones to take over and they pretty much have in our area.
