By the weekend, they were in full bloom. Their blooms are beloved as they are so big. Many also enjoy their fragrance.
But they are dropping now, carpeting the ground. My guest photographer has captured the essence of a magnolia carpet.

On neighbor's magnolia was stunning while the house next to him has a magnolia that looks basically dead. I am waiting for my crabapples to bloom.

ReplyDeleteThe mention of Magnolia made me recollect the poem, Mr Magnolia by Quentin Blake. Its one very light, hilarious poem. However I can see that Mr Magnolia has nothing in common with the Magnolia flowers.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics Alana. I have never seen this flower; what we call magnolia here is a creamy white flower with very large petals. It smells divine!
