Every Friday, I publish pictures of the sky as part of something called "Skywatch Friday". But every day, I try to appreciate the sights that are more down to Earth. Still, I love the sky.
Maybe that's why this petunia appeals to me - don't the white spots remind you of stars? And the blue/purple, the sky?
This picture was taken back in June - sadly, these petunias did not do well in this hot and humid summer.

They are so gorgeous—these Petunias! I love the colours and they do look like a starry sky at night. What a shame they cant withstand the rising temperatures...We used to have them at home in the hills way which mom would lovingly tend to in our garden. Your picture revived some lovely memories, Alana.
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course, thank you for joining us this week. :)
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are lovely. Purple is my favorite color
ReplyDeleteI LOVE petunias... I never used to, my mom would buy a pot and they always looked sickly, but she was not a gardener. SO I thought they were ugly until my first garden, I planted some because they are usually cheap. They did beautiful and I plant an abundance now. This year I planted some from seed I started in the house in March, and I am busy gathering seeds again.
ReplyDeleteI planted those same petunias! I absolutely fell in love with them. Fortunately in our cooler Canadian climate, they did really well!
ReplyDeleteYes, those flowers kind of look like a night sky. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThe petunias were gorgeous! Everything in my yard is struggling in this brutal heat. I have some tall olive jars with creeping jenny and several blooming plants that need water twice a day! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThe deer even ate my petunias.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
What a lovely click! They sure resemble a starry night sky. Sad to know they didn't survive the heat...
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a petunia with vitiligo ! Or may be a leopard petunia
ReplyDeleteI afore petunias. The vibrant colours do look like a sky with stars.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely flower! I think I have never seen a petunia though I remember reading about them. I loved the analogy you drew with sky and the stars.
ReplyDeleteI love petunias and I was on a Petunia hunt this summer, till they dwindled away in the heat. I love the fierceness of the purple colour that merges so beautifully with the white tapestry.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up with us on #WW, Alana
