The Colors of Mid June

A quick post today, as it is so beautiful outside.  It's the last week of spring.  Come take a short wildflower walk with me.

The temperature is in the high 60's.  It is pleasant, with low humidity.  It's days like these that make up for our long, long winters.  Well, almost.

Taken on the Vestal Rail Trail, Vestal, New York, between Thursday and today.

Rugosa roses.

Another view.  Although these are invasive, they smell so nice.  I wish I could pick them for potpourri.

I kept thinking of the old song "A Bicycle Built for Two".

I should know what these are.

Finally, I believe this is from a spirea which has naturalized.

What amazes me about this little exercise walk is how many of these flowers are white and yellow.  These must be the colors of mid-June.
